McCurley Enterprises Inc. (MEI) provides the highest consulting and technical services to the construction, electric and telecommunications industries. MEI, with its corporate headquarters located in Rockwall, Texas, provides a well trained and experienced workforce with a wide range of skill sets and with a mindset to do whatever it takes to accomplish a task in the most economical and practical manner possible.

The MEI Oversite Team/Field Construction Coordinators provide quality control inspection of right-of way clearing, site preparation, material management, foundation installation, structure assembly and erection, installation of electrical equipment, bus work, cable, grounding, controlled drainage and conductor, shield wire and fiber optic installation.

MEI utilizes the latest technology as required by clients. Safety and OSHA compliance by construction contractors is a vital part of our quality control inspection services.

MANAGEMENT TEAM

Prior to founding MEI, Fred had twenty-eight years of service with Oncor predecessor companies. With over 25 years in business service currently serving electric utility companies he has over 50 years of experience in the business. Fred’s background is in transmission and substation engineering and construction. Fred is a Vietnam Veteran who proudly served in the 101st Airborne Division Infantry of the US Army in 1970-1971, prior to joining the Texas Power & Light Company (now Oncor) in 1971.

Fred W. McCurley, Founder

Prior to founding MEI, Fred had twenty-eight years of service with Oncor predecessor companies. With over 25 years in business service currently serving electric utility companies he has over 50 years of experience in the business. Fred’s background is in transmission and substation engineering and construction. Jack has over 40 years of experience in the electric utility industry. He began his career with Oncor (formerly TU Electric) as a project engineer in Transmission Engineering. He worked in a variety of engineering positions such as transmission and substation design; project management and construction; generation resource planning and regulation; structuring and energy trading. After 20 plus years at Oncor, Jack also worked 20 plus years at Garland Power & Light, managing Business Operations that included contracts and compliance activities; risk management policy activities; regulatory aspects of commodity transactions; and market financial activities. Jack is responsible for business development for MEI.

Jack Brown, PE – Director of Marketing & Business Development

Jack has over 40 years of experience in the electric utility industry. He began his career with Oncor (formerly TU Electric) as a project engineer in Transmission Engineering. He worked in a variety of engineering positions such as transmission and substation design; project management and construction; generation resource planning and regulation; structuring and energy trading. After 20 plus years at Oncor, Jack also worked 20 plus years at Garland Power & Light, managing Business Operations that included contracts and compliance activities; risk management policy activities; regulatory aspects of commodity transactions; and market financial activities. Jack is responsible for business development for MEI.
Kevin began his career with Oncor (formerly TU Electric) as an engineer in Transmission Engineering Department where he designed transmission line projects. He spent 25 years in consulting engineering where he was responsible for all phases of design and construction engineering/inspection with a staff of over 200 engineers, architects, surveyors, and inspectors in four states.

Kevin D. Newman, PE - Chief Operation Officer

Kevin began his career with Oncor (formerly TU Electric) as an engineer in Transmission Engineering Department where he designed transmission line projects. He spent 25 years in consulting engineering where he was responsible for all phases of design and construction engineering/inspection with a staff of over 200 engineers, architects, surveyors, and inspectors in four states.
Steve began his 42-year career in the electric utility industry as a lineman for Oncor (formerly Texas Power & Light). He has worked his way through the Electrical Industry from Lineman to Project Management. Steve is responsible for initiatives to improve service to MEI clients. He evaluates technology decisions, trains/onboards new employees, works through process improvement and client experience initiatives, engages in strategic planning, and serves as mentor and coach to team members.

Steve Ragsdale – Project Manager

Steve began his 42-year career in the electric utility industry as a lineman for Oncor (formerly Texas Power & Light). He has worked his way through the Electrical Industry from Lineman to Project Management. Steve is responsible for initiatives to improve service to MEI clients. He evaluates technology decisions, trains/onboards new employees, works through process improvement and client experience initiatives, engages in strategic planning, and serves as mentor and coach to team members.
James has over 30 years in electrical construction. Starting out as a Lineman for AEP/West Texas Utilities. He is responsible for scheduling, safety initiatives, recruiting, and technical training.

Bob has over 50 years of experience in the electric utility industry. He began his career with Texas Power & Light (now Oncor) as an engineer in Distribution Engineering. He worked in a variety of engineering positions such as distribution design, distribution standards, system operating services, distribution planning, and communications. Bob is responsible for the telecommunications business activities for MEI.

Bob Ewing, PE – Executive Director, Telecom

Bob has over 50 years of experience in the electric utility industry. He began his career with Texas Power & Light (now Oncor) as an engineer in Distribution Engineering. He worked in a variety of engineering positions such as distribution design, distribution standards, system operating services, distribution planning, and communications. Bob is responsible for the telecommunications business activities for MEI.
